A surf park of massive proportions is planned for Austin, Texas!
NLand Surf Park LLC, soon to be the largest inland surf destination in North America has finally been announced and construction is underway. The full lagoon will have 11 surfing areas featuring 1-, 4- and 6-foot waves with each one lasting up to 35 seconds.
Integrated People Solutions is extremely excited to see the project develop! We worked directly with Doug Coors, a direct descendent of Coors Brewing founder Adolph Coors and 9th Street Capital, a private equity firm backing the project, to hire the Vice President of Operations for the company.
In early 2015, Integrated People Solutions sourced Robert Logan, an Austin local, to take on the role as Vice President of Operations at the park. Robert earned his B.F.A degree in Theater from the University of Texas, where he attended on an acting scholarship. Upon graduation, Robert spent almost 10 years in the acting world, which lead to an acting role at AstroWorld, a Six Flags park. He began working various roles within the Six Flags organization including: Manager of Entertainment, Director of Human Resources, Director of WaterWorld Water Park and eventually Vice President, Operations for Six Flags.
Before being recruited by Integrated People Solutions, he was the Chief Operating Officer for Innovative Leisure Partners, a consulting business. During his time at IPL he worked on two largely successful projects. One was a massive $6.5 billion mall project in Dubai, and the other was Hurricane Alley Water Park in Corpus Christi, TX, a ground up effort.
When IPS contacted him about the opportunity with Nland Surf Park, he was extremely excited. Given his background and experience, we knew it would be a great match for what Doug Coors was looking for.
