Blue for Autism Awareness Day

April is Autism Awareness Month and Tuesday the 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day.  Across the globe people are wearing the color blue to raise awareness for the increasing prevalence of this developmental disorder.

World Autism Awareness Day is an Internationally recognized event where the United Nations reaffirms its “commitment to promote the full participation of all people with autism, and ensure they have the necessary support to be able to exercise their rights and fundamental freedoms.”

Various building and landmarks around the world will light up in the color blue Tuesday to raise awareness as well.  The White House, the Empire State Building and Niagara Falls have all been lit blue on this day in years’ past.

If you would like to show your support for autism awareness on your social media accounts, you can use these pre-written tweets and post hashtags #LightItUpBlue or #WorldAutismAwareness2019, or even turn your Facebook profile picture blue for the day.

Autism Speaks is one of the nine organizations IPS has selected to support through IPS Cares.  Our clients can select from one of the nine organizations that is most important to their company.  IPS Cares was initiated on January 1st, 2005; our passion for excellence on each client’s account is fueled by the knowledge that together we are also working to support important causes such as this.
