Recruiter Mike Thomson shared some career transitioning tips in a recent People in Transition podcast:
– Briefly describe your previous work’s impact on the company to ensure your resume stands out.
– Be professional on social media sites.
– Ask questions such as “What did you see in me that made you interested in talking with me?” This will give you insights into what the hiring team is looking for.
– Update your LinkedIn page.
– Think about what you liked about your past jobs or bosses. This will give you a map of places to look for your next job.
– Take ownership of your job search. Be unique.
